Hannah's Blessing Day

Hannah was blessed this past Sunday. She looked very adorable! I am loving the new phase of having a baby girl. Baby boys are cute too, don't get me wrong. But having a baby girl is like having your own doll to dress up! There's the clothes, then hair tie to go with it, lets not forget the shoes! I love getting her dressed in the morning! Well anywho - she was wearing her white dress, white hair band, white tights and white shoes that Tia Tammy made for her (You're AWESOME Tammy)!
We didn't get a chance to take pictures at the Church building. I really wanted to take a picture of Hannah and everyone that participated in the circle but no chance! So I will just mention names.
-Of course, her dad gave her the blessing.
-The bishopric, Brother Campbell, Brother Seraydarian, and Bishop Hadley. Who all have amazing families and spouses! We all work in the Primary together. :)
-Brother Bardo who is the ward clerk and good friend of the family! Sister Bardo made me the delicious cookie cake for my birthday. They lived in Texas for a while so we can talk about Texas all the time! At least Rebecca and I do when we're in the Mother's room nursing!
-Brother Murray: Another awesome family. They have 3 girls and the oldest two get along with Malachi so well.
-Brother Duo: Jacob's home teaching companion. His wife also works in the Primary and will be Malachi's Sunbeam teacher next year!
-Brother Burke: Now this family, awesome too, are super cool! Sister Burke has mentioned to us that she has a son-in-law that looks just like Jacob. Brother Burke trys to get Malachi to laugh whenever we're around. And Renee (Sister Burke) has such a sweet spirit!

Hannah wasn't fortunate enough to have the grandparents come out this time. But I know they were there in spirit.

Hannah cried throughout the blessing. She started having a rough morning and just wanted to be cuddled and held. I had a hard time getting her and Malachi ready for Church. (Jacob leaves early for meetings) She finally stayed quiet in the car ride but as soon as Brother Seraydarian called her and Jacob up for the blessing she started crying. Who knows why!

Even though she cried Jacob was able to give her a sweet, simple blessing. The words that really stuck out to me during the prayer were, "Learn and emulate from your mother." That really touched me and made me reflect on raising the bar for my children. It also made me reflect on the things I've learned from my mother.

I would say that the most important thing I've learned from my mother is her selflessness and love for others, especially her family. I remember growing up, during our early seminary mornings, my mother was the first one up. We would find her in the kitchen making breakfast for us. During marching season, she would stop by our high school and give us a bag of snacks. We wouldn't be home until late in the evening and therefore she wanted to make sure we ate something. She would always be at a soocer, basketball, volleyball, or football game. Even if she was tired and had had a long day, she was there at every event any of us participated in. No matter how late. My mother never yelled, screamed, or hit us. She was very patient and loving. I admire that from her because she had 4 kids, with only a year difference between each, at home growing up! I don't know how she did that! :)

I have much to learn from my mother and I hope that my children learn from me too. I hope they become better people too! Being a mother is at times hard but very rewarding! I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything!

Well, back to Hannah and her beautiful self! Here are some pictures I hope you enjoy!

We are VERY blessed to have Hannah Aaliyah be part of our family! I hope she feels the same way as she grows!
