We (well I with moral support from Malachi and Hannah who were already in bed) decorated our home the night before. Hannah loved the balloons. I think for her birthday the whole house should be filled with balloons just for her.
We REALLY surprised him this year with his gifts. The past years he makes it hard on me because he won't tell me what he wants for his birthday so I kind of guess around on things. Not knowing whether he'll like them or not. This year I made sure to pay close attention on things he wanted throughout the year. So, we got him a Michael Jackson CD Collection, an AUX input for the car to use with his iPhone so that he can listen to downloaded pod casts, a new MADDEN football game (he has really suffered from the NBA lockout), and a new white shirt with some cool ties! He loved it all!
We allowed dad to try out his new football game and then headed to the park. Afterwards we had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. Malachi tried calamari for the first time and loved it!

On Wednesday we had gone to Costco to get some groceries and I let him pick out his cake. Good choice. It was very delicious! So after dinner we headed home to cut the cake and sing 'Happy Birthday.'
